The Province of South-Holland have granted the environmental permit. Also the Minister of Transport, Public Works and Water Management has granted a permit for the discharge of cooling water from this power station.

- Permit regarding the Environmental Management Act
- Permit regarding the Surface Water Pollution Act
- Permit regarding the Water Management Act
- Permit regarding the Nature Preservation Act
The Enecogen power station will be the first gas fired power station in the Netherlands equipped with a SCR. This results in a substantial reduction of the air pollution by nitrous oxides and contributes to a better air climate the Europoort Region. Also Enecogen will substantially reduce the emissions to water by supplying warm water to the LNG terminal of LionGas currently under development. Enecogen will also investigate whether low temperature energy emerging from the evaporation from LNG can be used for the reduction of the emission of carbon dioxide from the new power station.
