Siemens Energy is responsible for the turnkey construction of the Enecogen combined cycle power project in the Rotterdam harbor in the Netherlands. The project with an installed capacity of approximately 870 megawatts (MW) is scheduled to go on line in late 2011. The order volume, including a long-term maintenance agreement, is just under EUR 700 million.

In fiscal 2008 (ended September 30), the Energy Sector had revenues of approximately EUR22.6 billion and received new orders totaling approximately EUR33.4 billion and posted a profit of EUR1.4 billion. On September 30, 2008, the Energy Sector had a work force of approximately 83,500.

Gas Transport Services

Gas Transport Services B.V. (GTS) is taking care of the gas connection and gas transport capacity of the Enecogen power plant.

Gas Transport Services B.V. (GTS) is the national network operator and is responsible for providing gas transport services and expanding the domestic pipeline network and its accompanying installations. GTS is a fully owned subsidiary of N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie; however, it performs its tasks fully autonomously, as required by law (Gas Act). Through GTS, Gasunie provides gas transport and associated services to its customers. These are mainly shippers, industries connected to the domestic network and other national and international network companies. GTS operates from its headquarters in Groningen.
